Senator Shaheen Floor Statement Urging the Extension of Unemployment Benefits, October 20, 2009

Senator Shaheen encouraged lawmakers to quickly pass the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act. With nearly 2 million Americans slated to lose their benefits between September and the end of 2009, the bill would extend a much needed lifeline for those hardest hit by the recession.
