March 22, 2004. Mile marker 103 on US12 about 5 miles east of Morton. The driver of the Dodge van was at fault in this early morning fatal crash. The van heading east bound crossed the centerline at around 6 am striking the west bound Ford. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. Two of the 10 passengers in the van and the driver died at the scene. Four were airlifted. Three of those would die later that day. The highway was closed for several hours.
